About the authors: No one combines more experience of running and coaching than Bruce Tulloh. His competitive record includes winning British and European titles on the track, representing England at cross-country and breaking the record for the 3,000 mile run from Los Angeles to New York. He has been coaching since 1965 and for more than 20 years has been writing coaching advice for Runners World and its prededessors.
